Follow and watch trends

Follow trends you care about to track them over time without creating formal alerts. Followed trends appear in a dedicated section so you can monitor their evolution at a glance and act when the timing is right.

Following a trend

Find the trend

Navigate to the Trends page and use filters to locate the trend you want to follow.

Click Follow

Click the Follow button on the trend card or in the trend detail panel. The button changes to Following to confirm.

Open Followed Trends from the sidebar. All your followed trends appear in a single list with live score updates, lifecycle badges, and recent changes.

Each followed trend shows:

  • Current score -- The latest trend score (0-100), updated in real time.
  • Lifecycle stage -- The current stage (emerging, growing, peaking, saturating, declining) with the corresponding color badge.
  • Score change -- How much the score has changed since you started following, or since the last 24 hours.
  • Source count -- The number of distinct sources currently reporting on the trend.
  • Last updated -- When the most recent snapshot was taken.

Click any followed trend to open the full detail panel with the score evolution chart, scoring breakdown, and source list.

Unfollowing a trend

Click the Following button on any trend card, or open the trend in the Followed Trends page and click Unfollow. The trend is removed from your list immediately. No data is lost -- you can re-follow it at any time.

Follow is per-user

Follow state is tied to your user account, not to the site. If you work across multiple sites, your followed trends remain the same regardless of which site you are currently viewing. Team members each have their own independent follow lists.

When a trend you follow undergoes a significant change, you receive a notification:

  • Score jump -- The trend score increases or decreases by more than 20 points.
  • Lifecycle change -- The trend transitions to a new stage (e.g., growing to peaking).

Notifications appear in the dashboard notification panel. For more granular or external notifications (email, Slack, Discord, webhook), use trend alerts instead.

Use case: editorial planning

Follow 5-10 trends in your niche and check the Followed Trends page daily. When a trend enters the growing or peaking stage, it is prime time to generate an article. This approach lets you stay proactive without being overwhelmed by the full trends feed.

Combine following with alerts for a two-layer monitoring strategy. Use follow for trends you want to browse and track visually. Use alerts for trends that need immediate attention via email, Slack, or webhook.
