Manage subscription

Subscribe, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel via Stripe.

Manage subscription

IANews uses Stripe for all subscription billing. You can subscribe to a plan, change plans, update payment methods, and download invoices -- all from the billing settings or the Stripe Customer Portal.

Subscribe to a plan

Open billing settings

Navigate to Settings → Billing and click "Upgrade Plan".

Select a plan

Choose the plan that fits your needs: Pro (49 EUR/month), Business (149 EUR/month), or Enterprise (custom pricing). See the Plans guide for a detailed comparison.

Complete Stripe checkout

Click "Subscribe". You are redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page where you enter your payment details. Stripe supports credit cards, debit cards, and additional payment methods depending on your region.

Return to IANews

After successful payment, you are redirected back to IANews. Your new plan is active immediately, and all plan features are unlocked.

Manage your subscription

Click "Manage Subscription" from Settings → Billing to open the Stripe Customer Portal. From the portal, you can:

  • Update payment method -- Add a new card, remove an expired one, or set a default payment method.
  • View invoices -- Browse and download PDF invoices for every payment. Invoices are also emailed automatically by Stripe.
  • Change plan -- Upgrade or downgrade your subscription directly in the portal.
  • Cancel subscription -- End your subscription at the end of the current billing period.

Upgrading your plan

When you upgrade (e.g., from Pro to Business):

  • The new plan's features are available immediately.
  • Billing is prorated -- you are charged the difference for the remaining days in the current billing period.
  • Your monthly billing date stays the same.

Downgrading your plan

When you downgrade (e.g., from Business to Pro):

  • The current plan remains active until the end of the billing period.
  • The lower plan takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle.
  • No refund is issued for the remaining time on the current plan.

Before downgrading, review your current usage. If you exceed the lower plan's limits (e.g., more than 5 team members on Pro, more than 3 sites on Pro), you will need to reduce usage before the downgrade takes effect. Excess resources may become read-only.

Canceling your subscription

When you cancel:

  • You retain access to all paid features until the end of the current billing period.
  • At the end of the period, your account reverts to the Free plan.
  • Your content (articles, briefs, sites) is preserved, but you are subject to Free plan limits (10 articles/month, 1 site, 1 team member).
  • You can re-subscribe at any time to restore full access.

Invoices

Invoices are available in three places:

  1. Email -- Stripe automatically sends a PDF invoice to the Owner's email after each payment.
  2. Stripe Customer Portal -- Full invoice history with download links.
  3. Settings → Billing → Invoices -- A list of recent invoices directly in the IANews dashboard.

Enterprise plans

Enterprise plans are priced per organization based on volume, features, and support requirements. To set up an Enterprise subscription:

  1. Contact sales via the pricing page or email.
  2. Discuss your requirements (volume, SLA, custom integrations).
  3. Receive a custom quote.
  4. Subscription is provisioned by the IANews team.

Only the Owner role can manage billing and subscriptions. Admins, Editors, Authors, and Viewers do not have access to billing settings. See Roles and permissions for details.
